Can’t imagine a road trip in this tiny little thing is too fun, but either way, this humble little Micra had been road-tripped from Ontario to DC.

I still don’t completely understand why this isn’t sold here.

Eh, it’s probably a better roadtrip car than most of the cars built a decade before it.

The Versa is already one of the cheapest new cars available in the US, for when you want something slightly fancier than a Mitsubishi Mirage. It doesn’t really make sense for Nissan to have a model below it here.

This might earn me some hate, but I always tell people that, in my opinion the Micra is the best car on sale right now. By car, I mean 4 wheels and a steering wheel.

My wife’s friend has a 5 speed Micra, they are actually pretty fun and nice in the top spec. You can race them.

I love the Micra.

It works up here, we have the Mirage and Versa too

Cars in general are more expensive in Canada though. The only car like the Micra that I can think of that sold in the US is the Chevy Spark.

Because Nissan is insecure and jealous. That’s why.

They’re afraid that the Micra will steal sales from their more expensive cars, but in reality, the Micra actually competes with *used* cars, which means it isn’t really stealing any sales away from other new cars and just amounts to extra sales. Plus, the Micra already meets US standards.

The Mirage and Spark are overpriced by at least $3000. VW needs to sell the Up and Polo here.

If Nissan sold the Micra down here, almost the entire Uber/Lyft fleet would switch to Micras almost overnight.

They don’t seem to understand that people can’t afford new cars anymore. We’re still in a depression (the “recovery” is a myth), as the stupid “gig economy” shit and temp jobs with no benefits don’t count.

Every new car is a luxury car these days. Every new car is a muscle car now. But we don’t need every car to be a luxury car and a muscle car.

I see more Micras than Versas!

No, absolutely not. Better than older similar segment cars, yes. But do you really think this is nicer on long trips than your average (normally maintained) decently equipped 15 yars old midsize car? I can assure you it is not, even without having driven the Micra (but having driven superior EU market competitors)

Compared to US midsize cars of that era, yes.
